I’m Renu from Bhalswa Delhi, I’m 26-years-old. My family consists of my Parents, 2 brothers, sister-in-laws and their kids. Father is a tailor, mother and sister-in-laws are housewives, both brothers go out to work.
I Joined Azad in 2017 to learn driving. After completion of driving training I joined Sakha as a cab driver in 2019. I learned new routes and met new people every day. The best thing I liked while working with Sakha was meeting new people every day and when we hear from them that being a taxi driver and on road is not an easy one and even men at times are not as good drivers as we are. These compliments help us work even better and explore more opportunities to live in the same field. People motivate us for the kind of work we are doing. After knowing that the opinion of the society is changing by seeing us working as drivers I feel good.
Working with Sakha I have not only driven on the streets of Delhi but also had the opportunity to drive to other cities and also had an opportunity to visit other places in India. Now I have also reached foreign country – Europe. With the help of Sakha, I have joined Baton Transport based from Hungary and drive on the roads of Italy, Spain and France.
Along with earning we also earned respect and trust in the family. I also supported my father financially to purchase a house of our own.
Working in any foreign country was a dream come true for me. My dream is to buy a big house in my name from the money I earn from working in Europe and also to buy some jewellery and save for the future. All my dreams are getting converted to reality only because I’m here as a professional driver.
