WHO WE ARE

Our Story

Sakha is a unique social enterprise offering safe and reliable transport services by women, through three core verticals:

At the heart of Sakha’s mission is the creation of remunerative, dignified employment for women from marginalized communities. But we go beyond just providing jobs — we strive to build careers for women in the transport sector.

Today, Sakha-trained drivers operate as riders, cab drivers, bus drivers, truck and trailer drivers. They have not only crossed geographic boundaries — with some driving trailers across Europe — but also broken deeply rooted social and gender norms.

Sakha is a disruptor. By enabling women to enter traditionally male-dominated industries like transport and logistics, we help them also renegotiate the invisible labor of care at home — long seen as a woman’s sole responsibility.

Since our journey began in 2008, when women drivers were a rarity, Sakha has empowered over 5,200 women with employment. Together, they have earned XX+ crore in income and delivered YY+ safe rides across cities.
