Hi I’m Deepa from Jahangirpuri Delhi. My family consist of parents, Grand Mother and 3 siblings. I joined Azad and completed my training in 2012 and joined Sakha as a taxi driver in 2014. Worked with Sakha for different clients and different shift as and when duties were assigned. I learned to be strong working with Sakha and all the support I received from time to time. I was on among the early commercial driver from Jahangirpuri region to join Sakha cabs. Initially I found it difficult to even park the vehicle in my area where all taxis parked were of male drivers and getting a safe and secure parking space was difficult as the security did not have the confident in allowing me to come late night and park my vehicle and walk back to my home. With the support from Sakha and Azad team, the local community also learnt that women drivers also can and park during late hrs and slowly the number of drivers increased from my locality. From those days of initial days today I drive on the roads of Germany and France following all the international driving rules and guidelines. Everyone praises my work and my parents, siblings and relatives are proud of my growth and work.
With the help of Sakha I joined Baton Transport a Truck transport company in Hungary, Europe. With my hardwork and support I passed all their 7 different test for getting the International License in 6 months to be able to drive on the roads of Europe along with the driving training. I’m almost completing 2years of driving as 40 ft trailer truck driver and also got my visa extended till 2027. Several times I’m listed among the top 10 performers of the list Baton Transport published.
Being one of the first set of drivers came to Europe for Baton Transport from Sakha and the experience I gained on the roads and process, today I also train the new drivers coming from India through Sakha. I earn close to 2lacs and I want more female drivers to come to Europe and live their dreams and grow with experience and earnings. Baton also trains, works and supports girls to grow with the team and I’m looking forward to grow with the company and Thank you Sakha Azad and Baton Transport for bringing changes in my life and supporting more girls to change their lives too. ?
